GREENSBURG, Pa. -- Police said a man was found dead after a standoff in Westmoreland County on Wednesday morning.
Greensburg police said Christopher Sphon became suicidal after his girlfriend told him she wanted to break up.
The woman left the house and called 911 after hearing a gunshot. She told police the couple's 2-year-old was inside the home.
A state police team responded and, after several hours of negotiation, officers went inside.
Authorities said they heard another gunshot and found Sphon dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The 2-year-old was not injured.
