2009 PITTSBURGH -- Five young people are accused of stealing iPods, GPS devices, clothes, computers, cash, guns and big-screen televisions worth a total of $25,000 from homes and cars throughout Pittsburgh's North Hills.Northern Regional Police Chief Bob Amann said the suspects targeted unlocked cars and broke into houses in Bradford Woods, Franklin Park and Pine, Marshall, Richland, Cranberry and Jackson townships from July 10 to July 24.Forty-nine of the alleged thefts were from cars and six were done in burglaries, Amann said.Arrested on Monday were Brent Simmons, 20, Corey Pandullo, 18, Budd Henry, 18, Jackie Conway, 19, and a girl who was not identified because she is 17. All five are from Indiana, Pa.The suspects were arrested in Indiana and taken to Allegheny County Jail on charges of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.One of the break-ins happened at the Knights of Columbus in Wexford, where a Virgin Mary statue was desecrated, Amann said.So far, about $10,000 worth of the missing items has been recovered, Amann said.
