Another person has died following a car collision in Fayette County that injured his family and killed a young woman.

Ronnie Tobin, 36, was pronounced dead at a Pittsburgh hospital on Tuesday morning. His live-in girlfriend, Samantha Gaylor, remains in critical condition at UPMC Presbyterian.

"He worked hard every day of his life for his children, which was the world to him," Tobin's sister, Tanya Straitiff, told WTAE Channel 4's Sheldon Ingram. "I'm going to miss everything about my brother."

The original victim, Angelina Miller, 18, of Grindstone, died at the scene of the July 22 crash on Grindstone Road in Redstone Township.

State police said Miller was driving one car, while Tobin and Gaylor were in the other vehicle with Tobin's child and Gaylor's child. The kids -- one of whom is just shy of 2 years old -- were taken to Uniontown Hospital with minor injuries.

"For me, personally, it's like, where's the justice in life? Here's a guy going down the road and minding his own business, and then his life is gone," said Tobin's friend, John Teslovich.

Police are still trying to determine what caused the crash. They described the section of road as a "bad curve" and said Miller may have lost control of her car and crossed the centerline.

WTAE Channel 4's Jennifer Miele reported that Miller was a volunteer who helped raise money for the Grindstone Volunteer Fire Department, where three of her brothers are firefighters.

Two of Miller's brothers were among the first people to arrive at the scene of the crash.

"It's a close-knit department and a close community, and everybody is really shocked that this happened. This was a wonderful girl who had her whole life ahead of her," said former fire chief Michael Liptak.

Miller recently graduated from Frazier High School and was planning to attend Laurel Business Institute.

Two cars collided on Grindstone Road in Redstone Township.

“She was a sweet girl. She always listened to her parents, she was a good girl. She went to school -- a very well known person in the community -- she was just a sweet girl,” said friend Jennifer Clark.

Emergency workers at the scene told Channel 4 Action News' Amber Nicotra that Miller's death hit close to home.

"The girl in the Pontiac was the sister to two of our firemen who responded to the fire call. And it's not a very good time here right now," said Rich Lenk, the Redstone Township fire chief.
