Police in North Huntingdon are asking the public for help in solving a string of burglaries plaguing the Westmoreland County township.

Five homes have been burglarized in the Ardara and Larimer neighborhoods lately, Sgt. Jeffrey Bouldin said on Thursday.

"They're knocking on doors. If someone sees them, (they say) they're looking for so and so, they're not there, so they just move on," Bouldin said. "If there's no one home, they'll walk around the back of the home and check it again and make entry by force or find an open window or door."

Police said the burglaries all happened during daylight hours and are similar in nature.

Investigators said they're looking for a blue car, occupied by a man and a woman with a child restraint seat in the back seat, seen in the area of some of the burglaries.

Police also said they're looking for a white man in his 20s who has brown hair, is about 5 foot 2 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds in connection with the case.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call North Huntingdon police at 724-863-8800.
