An Allegheny County woman has been charged with stealing thousands of dollars from a Toyota dealership and using the money to pay credit card bills.

According to a news release from the district attorney, Renee Lianne Fulton, 36, worked for Day Toyota for more than 10 years. But it wasn't until she worked her way into an office position that investigators said the thefts began.

Police said dealership managers alerted an employee was misusing checks, began reviewing financial records. According to investigators, a number of company checks had been sent to Credit One and Bank of America to pay almost $15,000 on personal credit cards belonging to Fulton.

Fulton was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Pat Capolupo on one count each of theft and receiving stolen property. The charges were waived to court and Fulton was released pending trial.
