Pittsburgh Protesters Talk About Economy

About 400 people gathered in Pittsburgh on the Fourth of July for a peaceful protest against what they said is excessive taxation.

The Pittsburgh Tea Party at Schenley Park in Oakland was just one of hundreds held across the country on Saturday.

In this case, TEA stood for Taxed Enough Already. Many people at the park said they wanted to send a message to the Obama administration and Congress.

One point of contention at the protest was the country's $787 billion economic stimulus plan. Demonstrators were upset about the huge debt that they say will be passed onto their grandchildren.

"This is a very good turnout," said Grover Norquist, who was a speaker at the protest. "What's important is, sometimes people try to have one big rally in D.C. That's a mistake. Many, many rallies all over the country. There are rallies in Pennsylvania. Someone just told me there are 21 rallies in Wisconsin."
