It's a Pittsburgh tradition and a curious custom.

The recent snowstorm has made parking, specifically along side streets, hard to find.

WTAE's Chris Glorioso reported that "saving seats" for parking may not be legal, but is a matter of local courtesy.

Those who have worked to clear their parking spaces expect to reap the benefits of that effort. They mark their territory with a chair.
