Man Shot In Oakland Near Pitt Campus

Pittsburgh police said a man was shot in north Oakland, just a few blocks from the University of Pittsburgh's campus.

Pittsburgh police said a man was shot across the street from Mitchell's Bar on the corner of Center Avenue and Melwood Street.

The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. on Friday, across the street from Mitchell's Bar on the corner of Center Avenue and Melwood Street.

Bullet holes could be seen on the sides of a former Giant Eagle grocery store building.

Investigators said they believe the shooting stemmed from an apparent robbery.

Police said the victim was taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

So far, no arrests have been made in the case.
