On Friday, Pittsburgh International Airport said goodbye to a longtime friend and leader.

A farewell reception was held for the Rev. Jack Fitzgerald, who is retiring as airport chaplain after a 15-year career.

Fitzgerald said his love for flying made the job a dream come true.

"It was never, ever work to come to the airport -- never. For 15 years I've been blessed to do what I love and I'm very, very grateful," said Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald's last day at the airport will be July 1.

He will then take over as pastor at Our Lady of Peace in Conway.
