An attorney representing four former students and the parent of a fifth is suing a Catholic high school in Westmoreland County, saying minority students have experienced various types of discrimination.

Diocesan officials said they aren't commenting on the lawsuits filed in federal court in Pittsburgh against Greensburg Central Catholic High School, about 30 miles east of the city.

Two lawsuits were filed on behalf of two black students who said they got less playing time and other disparate treatment on the football team even though college recruiters came to games to watch them.

The other suits contend minority students were subjected to stricter discipline for alleged wrongdoing than other students at the predominantly white school.
