Gas Line Repairs Cause Liberty Tunnel Rush-Hour Backups

West Liberty Avenue In Pittsburgh Down To 1 Lane

Evening rush-hour traffic headed out of the city toward the South Hills was affected by gas line repairs near the Liberty Tunnels on Friday.

The work was being done on West Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh, near the intersection with Route 51 and the tunnels, Columbia Gas representative Leslie Orbin said.

West Liberty Avenue was down to one lane of outbound traffic during the repairs.

Restrictions were expected to last through the rush hour, Orbin said.
