Wednesday's heavy rains, which left a trail of destruction across much of southwestern Pennsylvania, also left one Allegheny County family without a driveway.

In White Oak, the bridge connecting the Scarpone family's driveway to Jacks Run Road snapped off when Jacks Run flooded, wiping away the bridge and a portion of their front yard.

"It just came up so quick, I had a bad feeling it was not going to stay," Brian Scarpone said. "We never lost our bridge before, but we just had so much rain in a short amount of time last night."

Repairs are expected to cost thousands of dollars.

In the meantime, the family is using a rowboat and an all-terrain vehicle to get around.
