Water Main Break, Construction Project Prompt Conservation Request

Despite the expected rain people in parts of Washington County are being asked to conserve water.

The reason for the request has to do with two man-made issues.

A water main break on Tuesday night on Manifold Road in South Strabane Township is taxing area water supplies.

Local water officials are also concerned how work beginning on a construction project on Murtland Avenue will affect water resources.

Customers living in Washington, East Washington, South Strabane Township, Canton Township and North Franklin Township are being asked to conserve water until further notice.

Customers in those areas may also experience low water pressure.
