State police shut down part of Route 18 in Lawrence County for much of Friday morning because of a fatal car crash.

The two-car wreck happened at about 7:15 a.m. in Wilmington Township, just south of Route 158.

One of the drivers was killed. Police identified him as Ronald E. Holt, 67, of Pulaski.

The second driver suffered "major injuries" and a passenger suffered "moderate injuries," police said.

None of the three people was wearing a seat belt, police said.

Route 18 was closed between Nashua and Yoder roads for hours. It reopened shortly before noon.

Police are still investigating. A statement said charges are "pending," but none had been filed as of 1 p.m.
