A water main break sank part of a street on Pittsburgh's North Side on Wednesday, creating a massive sinkhole.

Crews are repairing a sinkhole that formed after a water main break on Pittsburgh's North Side.

Channel 4 Action News' Ari Hait reported Chateau Street is expected to be closed for most of Thursday.

The water main break left a sinkhole 25 feet wide and 15 feet deep in the middle of the road.

The eight-inch main that broke is located right near the entrance to route 65 north. When the main broke, an 18-inch sewer collapsed, causing the giant hole in the road.

Chateau Street is closed while crews make repairs. Crews said it might be open by 6 p.m. on Thursday.
