PITTSBURGH -- A McKees Rocks man has been ordered to stand trial on charges he fatally shot his 43-year-old ex-girlfriend and her 15-year-old daughter after breaking up with the woman.
Allegheny County police said 30-year-old Durand Alexander killed Sherry and Tia Crawley on April 7 inside the Crawleys' Frazier Street home in Stowe Township.
The bodies
were found by the woman's other daughter when she returned from softball practice after school.
"Everybody is in shock. They're numb, confused, angry, upset, hurt. I can't even describe all the words we're feeling right now," said Sherry Crawley's sister, Dawn Bagley, after Alexander's preliminary hearing Friday.
Police said Alexander told them he shot Sherry Crawley because he was jealous, then killed young Tia Crawley because she was a witness.
Alexander is being held in the county jail without bail until trial. The trial date has not been set yet.
