PITTSBURGH -- Viewing for Pittsburgh Police Officer Eric Kelly, shot and killed while responding to a domestic dispute call in Stanton Heights Saturday, was held Tuesday.
Watch Shannon Perrine's ReportA line quickly formed on Thomas Boulevard as friends, fellow law enforcement members, and city officials waited to enter White Memorial Chapel to pay their respects.
Paramedic Tracy Worthy worked alongside Kelly for 10 years and was among those in line.
Their last conversation was about how dangerous domestic disputes can be.
"We were talking about how we both were stressed and dealing with domestics. It was very minor at that time, but we've been doing this for years. We pretty much knew what we were facing every night going into these houses and so forth, but I would never expect anything like this," said Worth.
Viewing for Kelly was held from 4 p.m. 8 p.m.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
Richard Poplawski, 22, is accused of homicide. Police say he shot Kelly and Officers Paul Sciullo and Stephen Mayhle when they responded to his mother's home for a domestic call.
