Health Officials, Landfill Reps Meet With Concerned Findlay Parents

POSTED: 5:36 pm EDT March 25, 2009

State environmental regulators, the Allegheny County Health Department and representatives from Imperial Landfill met with parents in Findlay Township on Wednesday.

The landfill operators are promising to closely monitor wells and analyze gases being released.

Neighbors and parents of students who attend the nearby Wilson Elementary School have been complaining of headaches and saying that smells are coming from the property.

The Health Department cited the landfill after receiving dozens of complaints, many of which were received in the past few weeks.
