WEST NEWTON, Pa. -- A California truck driver said he had sex with a 15-year-old girl on a cross-country trip from Los Angeles to Westmoreland County.

WTAE's news exchange partners at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Joseph Simon faces 30 to 37 months behind bars after pleading guilty to coercion and enticement.

He was arrested when the girl escaped at a truck stop during a stop on Interstate 70 in Smithton on Nov. 18.

Simon's attorney said his client believed the girl was 18. Family members said the teen went willingly with Simon.

Simon will be held in the Allegheny County Jail until he's sentenced in July.
