11-Year-Old Suspect In Pregnant Slaying Moves To Erie Juvy LockupJordan Brown Accused Of Killing Dad's Girlfriend, Kenzie HoukPOSTED: 12:17 pm EST March 2,
2009 NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The 11-year-old suspect accused of killing a pregnant Lawrence County woman will be transferred to yet another holding facility.Jordan Brown is accused of shooting his father's girlfriend, 26-year-old Kenzie Houk, while she was lying in bed at their Wampum home.Charged as an adult with homicide, Brown was originally taken to the Lawrence County Jail. He was then transferred to the Allencrest Juvenile Detention Center in Brighton Township, Beaver County.Last week, Beaver County officials floated the idea of moving Brown back to an adult jail because it's less expensive than keeping him in a juvenile facility. On Monday, Lawrence County Judge Dominick Motto issued an order to move Brown to the Edmund L. Thomas Adolescent Detention Center in Erie as soon as space is available for the child. In the court order, the judge also said Lawrence County will be responsible for the costs of Brown's detention in Erie.Brown is being held with no bond. His defense attorney, Dennis Elisco, will argue for bail at a hearing scheduled for later this month.
