A second victim has died following a shooting outside a now-padlocked Washington bar.

Marquis Taylor, 24, was shot multiple times outside Cabaret West on West Chestnut Street early Monday morning.

Taylor remained hospitalized until he was pronounced dead Friday night.

Troy Saunders, 23, of Canton Township, was fatally shot and a third victim, Lindsay Jolly, 23, was also hospitalized with a leg wound and last reported to be in stable condition.

Washington police arrested Phillip Whitlock Jr., 26, in connection with the shooting prior to Taylor's death Friday.

WTAE Channel 4 Action News learned that Whitlock suffered some sort of injury between the day of the shooting and Friday. The wound got worse and he called his lawyer, who called police. They all met at Canonsburg General Hospital.

"For his protection, he was concerned about coming into the station, so we made arrangements with his attorney and took him into custody at that time," Lt. Dan Stanek said. "We're not sure exactly what started this, if this is something that's been ongoing," Stanek said.

Police did not give specific details of Whitlock's hospital treatment. They said he's being charged with homicide and aggravated assault.

Cabaret West was shut down by police this week. District Attorney Steven Toprani said there have been dozens of reports of violence and shootings associated with the bar on Chestnut Street.
