Police Arrest Man After Chase From Versailles To Wilmerding

Police arrested a man after a Versailles-to-Wilmerding chase ended when a car flipped onto its side in front of several homes Monday.

White Oak officers began the pursuit around 3:10 p.m. after a car was reported stolen from Woody's Little Italy restaurant on Walnut Street in Versailles.

WTAE Channel 4 Action News reported that the chase wound through the boroughs of White Oak, Wall and into Wilmerding, where the vehicle collided with a police car and a second car on Station Street shortly before 3:40 p.m.

One of the cars hit by the suspect car flipped over and ignited into fire. No serious injuries were reported.

The suspect, whose identity was not immediately released, was taken into custody after the crash.
