The new Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville has been highly anticipated while under development for several years.

With its grand opening less than 100 days away, Channel 4 Action News anchor Sally Wiggin got an exclusive look inside on Wednesday.

The design and kaleidoscopic colors are reflective of what families wanted for their children -- a holistic approach that represents the concept of family-centered care.

Dr. Andrew Urbach said he has been deeply involved in every aspect of the new facility, ensuring it decreases stress for families.

The Transformational Corridor will soon be filled with artwork and a welcome sign in 20 languages.

The Mario Lemieux Foundation has also established a sibling drop-off center that will be surrounded by bright tiles.

The main lobby, full of light, will feature waiting rooms above for imaging, neurology and other specialties.

"So kids coming in here can see kids up there -- have two major fish tanks," said Urbach.

The hospital's family resource center will act as a central gathering area to come to learn about specific diseases.

A 300,000-square-foot research center, giant screen to show movies, a garden and chapel are also part of the plan.

"If you look everywhere, you see thousands of little details. That says it is a great building, and we know it is because everyone says it is," said Urbach.

The hospital came with a price tag of $625 million.
