Washington County detectives arrested a Smith Township police officer after investigating an allegation of misconduct at a McDonald's restaurant.

Officer Derek Afif Dayoub, 26, of Scott Township, Allegheny County, is accused of simple assault, official oppression and harassment, according to District Attorney Steven Toprani's office.

The charges stem from an alleged Oct. 11 incident in Burgettstown involving a civilian and Dayoub, who was in uniform and on duty.

Dayoub is accused of confronting 19-year-old Brandon Lancaster while he was at work in a McDonald's in Burgettstown. Police said Dayoub accused Lancaster of talking about him. Police said when Lancaster denied the accusation, Dayoub squeezed a pressure point near the teenager's collarbone, causing him to collapse.

Police said Dayoub's partner Smith Township police officer Michael North told them his partner was "out of control" and frequently abusive.

Toprani said the investigation is ongoing, assisted by state police in Washington.
