Prior to Sunday's win against the San Diego Chargers, there was a calmness throughout the Steeler Nation unusual during the playoffs.

Merchandise remained stocked on store shelves and vendors talked of a lack of sales.

With the Steelers hot off a 35-24 win over the Chargers and one win away from Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa Bay, buzz around the team is starting to pick up.

"I think it's high," said fan Carl Greffenstette of the hype. "A lot of us were questioning things before, but after yesterday's game, as good as it was, we have great expectations."

On Monday, black and gold was proudly displayed on cars, apartment windows and business throughout the city.

"I saw people going up Carson Street with a Steelers truck and a goal post in the back. People are excited," said fan Gino Gerisoli.

Vendors who complained of poor sales last week expect things to pick up as the game against the Ravens nears.

Many fans are already making plans for the Super Bowl.

"We got it in the bag -- it's a done deal. We're going to the Super Bowl," said fan Veryl Dennis.

The Steelers host the Baltimore Ravens at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Heinz Field.
