Waterfront Marriott Hotel Robbed

West Homestead Police Issue Description

POSTED: 1:45 pm EST January 2, 2009

The Courtyard Marriott hotel at The Waterfront shopping center was robbed early Friday morning on West Waterfront Drive.

West Homestead Police Chief Christopher Deasy told WTAE Channel 4's news exchange partner, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, that a man went behind the front desk and demanded money from the clerk at 6 a.m.

The robber claimed to have a gun but did not show one, according to Deasy. He fled after the clerk gave him money.

No one was injured.

The suspect is described as black, 5 feet 9 inches or 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing blue jeans and a brown hoodie.

Anyone with information about the robbery should call police at (412) 461-1116.
