Bulletproof doors made in Greensburg are about to be the subject of a History Channel special.

Overly Door boasts dignitaries, NASA, even the president of the United States as customers. But there's another reason why the History Channel chose to do a story the company that makes bullet-resistant doors -- it makes for really good TV.

First, they shot at a regular door and the bullet went right through.

But even a .44 Magnum couldn't penetrate an Overly door and that's the reason why a lot of high-profile people buy them.

The doors are manufactured in downtown Greensburg. They have an internal fiberglass filter that stops bullets dead in their tracks.

"Every door we make is a protective barrier. The door is designed is to protect the people on one side of it from a hostile condition," said Terry Reese, the president of Overly Door.

A crew from the History Channel came to town on Thursday to shoot the ins and out of Overly doors as part of a series called "Modern Marvels."

Crews shot hours of interviews and footage of door manufacturing about the company that protects people from diplomats and presidents to students at colleges and universities.

"I think Overly doors is going to make a great story. These guys they do this stuff every day. They don't even think about how exciting their doors (are). They have them in government institutions, scientific labs, all in really exciting places," said History Channel Producer John Griffin.

Bullets aren't the only thing the doors can withstand. The company also simulated an explosion to demonstrate what would happen to an Overly door.

The "Modern Marvel" program about the company will air sometime in the spring of 2009.
