80-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Killed On West Liberty Ave.

Car Hits Person; Pittsburgh Homicide Unit Investigating

West Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh's Brookline and Beechview sections is open again after a fatal accident early Tuesday morning.

WTAE Channel 4 Action News reported that a pedestrian was struck by a car near the corner of West Liberty and Capital avenues at about 5:45 a.m. (See Map)

According to WTAE's news exchange partner the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, 80-year-old Frank Passara was struck by the car. Passara later died at UPMC Mercy.

City homicide detectives are investigating. No charges have been filed.
