A teenager could face attempted homicide charges in a shooting that may have left another young man paralyzed.

Pittsburgh police announced the arrest of a 17-year-old who officers questioned in the shooting of another young man in the city's Hill District on Wednesday afternoon.

WTAE Channel 4's Shannon Perrine reported that investigators questioned several people after the shooting of a 23-year-old man on Chauncey Drive.

Police said the man was shot in the back and that he is expected to be paralyzed as a result.

Police credited anonymous witnesses with helping officers make an arrest hours after the shooting.

"We were provided with some timely information and some descriptions and most of that information has remained anonymous and we were able to locate those suspects and take a dangerous person off the streets," Pittsburgh police Cmdr. Thomas Stangrecki said.

A group of men ran from the scene into a nearby apartment right after the shooting, authorities said.

Police found and questioned all of the men before charging the unidentified teenager.
