At least one person was shot in the back in Reserve Township overnight.

Police in the North Shore suburb responded to the 200 block of Walters Avenue at about 3 a.m.

Reserve Township police officers arrived at the scene and discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators said they believe the shooter ran from the scene.

"All of them seem to be friends in some way or form and we're still trying to ascertain this information," Reserve Township Police Chief Fred Boory said.

Police said they were searching a white 2002 Jeep Wrangler that may be involved in the investigation. Authorities said Saturday morning that they hoped to have an arrest warrant by the evening.
