A "Stop The Violence" march was held throughout several of Pittsburgh's southern hilltop communities early Monday evening.

Starting at Lighthouse Cathedral on Fisher Street in Arlington, marchers walked through Beltzhoover, Mount Oliver, Knoxville and Allentown, accompanied by a motorcycle escort.

"We've had a lot of young kids who have died. People in our church have been affected by it," the Rev. Maurice Trent said. "Young guys need to understand that when their lives are taken, it doesn't only affect them, it affects the families."

The city recently announced plans to move its Zone 3 police station from the South Side Flats to Arlington, in response to shootings and other reported violence in the hilltop areas.
