Firefighters Extinguish Pitcairn House Fire

An early morning house fire in Pitcairn was extinguished by firefighters Monday.

The vacant home, on Broadway Street near Jewell Way, sustained heavy damage.

Broadway Street, also called Route 130, was closed to traffic during the morning between Route 48 and Brinton Avenue.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was controlled around 5:30 a.m.

Neighbors said this was the second fire at the home in about a month.
