Federal agents conducted a marijuana bust Thursday in Pittsburgh, and it extended into parts of Florida and Canada.

Locally, several homes were raided in various Allegheny County neighborhoods.

Six men were charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute 100 kilograms of marijuana, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan.

In Allegheny County, they are identified as:

  • Dung Minh Tran, 33, of Balmoral Drive, McCandless
  • Magdi Milad Louis, 35, of St. William Place, Ross Township
  • Cuong D. Nguyen, 32, of Middletown Road, Pittsburgh (West End)
  • Christopher George Leventis, 34, of Windsor Drive, Pittsburgh (Squirrel Hill)
  • Hau Duy Bach, 19, of Presidential Drive, Allison Park

Also charged was Giacinto Rocco Derenzo, 29, of Winterbrook Drive in Cranberry Township, Butler County.

It's not yet clear what prompted the raids. Buchanan's office said the investigation is ongoing.

Agents from the FBI, the DEA and the IRS are involved, along with U.S. postal inspectors, Pennsylvania state police, Pittsburgh police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
