Steelers training camp is just around the corner and the players are paying close attention to the possible sale of the team.

The Rooney family is in negotiations with local billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller, who has offered to buy a majority share of the team in order to keep the Steelers in compliance with NFL ownership rules.

Backup quarterback and Homestead native, Charlie Batch, says the discussions will not effect the team.

"I think just from an ownership standpoint, they have to restructure some things and whatever plays out that's how it's going to play out," Batch said. "But, for me from a fan's standpoint, hopefully it's the best decision that this team's going to stick around here for a very long time."

Any announcement on the sale of the Steelers still may be a few weeks away.
