Two masked men robbed the Red Roof Inn on Route 19 in Cranberry Township, Butler County, early Tuesday morning.

The robbers demanded cash from a drawer and a safe behind the front desk of the motel, then took a cell phone and a wallet from the clerk's purse, police said.

An older-model surveillance camera at the motel provided no useful video evidence of the robbery, which happened around 5 a.m., police said.

Each man kept one hand under his clothing during the robbery, indicating they had weapons, police said. Both ran away toward Route 19.

One of them is described as white, between age 25 and 35, and he was wearing a white mask, black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

The other is also white, between age 25 and 35, with brown hair, and he was wearing a white mask, a tan-colored T-shirt and jeans.
