Man Hid In Woods, Tried To Abduct Girl, Police Say

A man accused of trying to lure and abduct a 16-year-old girl into his car on Friday faces attempted kidnapping charges.

Police said Michael Szerinsci Zerinski, 61, of New Salem, tried to lure the girl into his car, then hid in some woods and attempted to abduct her near Uniontown Hospital.

The girl told police the man followed her as she walked along Route 21 in Fayette County. Police said the girl refused to get in his car, saying he later parked and hid in some woods and grabbed her, tearing her shirt.

The girl managed to get away and call for help.
