S. Connellsville Mayor Declares Emergency

Basements Flooded In Many Homes

The mayor of South Connellsville in Fayette County declared a state of emergency Saturday night because many homes have flooded basements.

Homeowners with damaged foundations have been ordered to evacuate.

  • Weather Watch 4 Meteorologist Michael Haynes reported much of the South Connellsville area saw as much as 1½ inches on Saturday.

    Haynes said Saturday's rain fell within one hour.

    By the late evening, temperatures dipped below 70 degrees and fog overstretched the region.
