Authorities in Beaver County locked down an elementary school in Ohioville Borough after a man got into a scuffle with police after a home burglary on Tuesday morning.

Police said 21-year-old Matthew Baker and 26-year-old Christopher Allman broke into a home and stole prescription drugs and a 40 caliber handgun.

Later, they were seen near the Fairview elementary school. A police officer approached them, there was a scuffle, and the two men took off. The school was then placed on lockdown.

"The subject fled into the woods nearby the school and was supposed to be armed, and that's protocol for an elementary school or a high school or vice versa," said Ohioville Police Chief Ronald Lutton. "Students were to stay inside until the subjects were located and we could make sure everybody was safe."

The men were later found inside a local home and taken into custody, police said.

No one was hurt during the ordeal. The lockdown was called off and students were able to go home.

Police said the two men face charges including burglary and assault.
