Funeral Service Held For Man Shot In Pittsburgh K-9 Incident

MOUNT OLIVER, Pa. -- The family of Justin Jackson said their final goodbyes at his funeral at the Potter's House Ministries Cathedral on Tuesday morning.Jackson, 19, was shot and killed by Pittsburgh police after they said he fatally shot a K-9 officer that had been released on him last week in Mount Oliver.Police said they released Aulf the K-9 after Jackson refused to show his hands on Arlington Avenue, where officers were responding to a call about gunshots. Police said Jackson started shooting at them and an officer fired back.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office said a bullet found in the dog was consistent with the gun police said Jackson was carrying. Police also said the weapon was reported stolen after a 2006 burglary in Elliott.Jackson's death is still under investigation and the officer who shot him is on paid leave.
