UPMC Letters To Adorn U.S. Steel Building

POSTED: 5:30 pm EDT May 10, 2008
UPDATED: 12:33 pm EDT May 13, 2008

Crews were hoisting giant UPMC logos to the top of the U.S. Steel building in downtown Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

In all, 12 letters will go to the top -- four letters will be placed on each of the building's three sides.

Helicopters are being used to lift the letters, each of which stands 20 feet tall and weighs more than 2,000 pounds.

U.S. Steel is the largest tenant in the building, but UPMC has moved its headquarters from Oakland to Pittsburgh and now fills the top five floors of the building.
