2008 WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Three police officers were among four people injured in a two-alarm fire that broke out at a group home in Washington on Thursday.Police said an 18-year-old woman inside the East Maiden Street home suffered severe burns. She was taken to a local hospital, along with the injured officers, who suffered smoke inhalation."(Two officers) in total disregard to their own safety entered the building, along with (another) officer, and rescued a lady that was in there,” said Washington Police Lt. Kevin Brown. “All three suffered smoke inhalation and had to be transferred to the hospital to be looked at.”The woman’s condition has not been released."They found the one person on the second floor, removed her from the second floor with severe burns," said Washington Fire Chief Linn Brookman.According to police, five people lived in the home, along with two staff members."We seen the flames, so we stopped and there was people yelling, 'Someone entrapped.' We made sure they called 911," said Mary Shook, who helped the first responders. "We got the door open, and I held the door open because it wouldn't stay open. Two city cops went in, and about 10 minutes later, they brought the girl out that was entrapped. They did a wonderful job."
