2-Year-Old Playing In Driveway Struck By Reversing Car

A 2-year-old girl from Mill Run was struck by a vehicle while playing in the yard of a home in Springfield Township, Fayette County, on Thursday.

State police said the car was backing down a driveway on Clay Run Road and hit the child at about 11:30 a.m.

The child was taken to Highlands Hospital, then transferred to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, police said.

There is no word on the child’s condition, but police said her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

No charges have been filed against the driver of the car that hit the girl.
