Bloomfield Police Chase Ends In Crash, Arrests

PITTSBURGH -- A police chase ended in a three-car crash in Bloomfield overnight.Police said the chase started when an officer noticed a vehicle violation at about 2 a.m. at the intersection of Penn and Friendship avenues.Police said the car they were chasing lost control very quickly, spun around and went through the intersection backwards. The car then hit two other cars and injured three people, not seriously.
Police said they arrested the male driver and the driver of the other car, who they said was under the influence of alcohol."The car that was being pursued, turned out it was actually stolen," said Sgt. Charles Henderson of the Pittsburgh Police Department. "And the driver of the other car that was struck was believed to be intoxicated."The driver of the chased car faces a number of charges, including fleeing and eluding and receiving stolen property.
