Landslide Boulder Hits Munhall Woman's GaragePOSTED: 4:29 pm EDT April 29,
2008 MUNHALL, Pa. -- A landslide in Munhall along Ravine Street is causing one homeowner a lot of trouble.Delores Harkovich, 78, said the slide hasn’t yet hit her house, but a giant boulder is resting against her garage."It seems like it's heading more towards the house," said Harkovich. "The slide, it's coming this way more."Harkovich said the land first began sliding in March. She said she believes illegal dumping by a property owner on Carbon Street, which sits above her home, is the cause."I had a buyer for the home," she said. "We were going to sell it this coming summer. After he saw the slide, he backed out. He doesn't want it. It's going to be useless. I don't know what's going to happen to it."Other families said they are worried additional slides could put their homes in jeopardy, too.At this time, there is no official word as to what caused the land to slide.
