A state constable has died from injuries he suffered Saturday after he was shot outside a Pittsburgh bar.

Aaron Jenkins, 37, of the city's East Hills neighborhood, was shot outside Club 22 Rendezvous in Homewood.

Jenkins and another unidentified constable were shot as they left the Hamilton Avenue bar and walked to their car. Police said the second victim was expected to survive.

Homicide detectives said they don't believe the men were targeted because of their law-enforcement connection.

Investigators found shell casings in the parking lot across the street, but gave no word on who may have fired the shots or why.
