Two state constables were shot outside a bar in the Homewood section of Pittsburgh.

City police said the men were socializing at Club 22 Rendezvous on Hamilton Avenue and went outside to their car at about 1:25 a.m. Saturday.

That's when shots were fired, wounding both men, police said.

They were transported to UPMC Presbyterian, and hospital officials said they were both in critical condition Saturday evening.

Investigators said they do not believe the men were targeted because they are constables.

Police said they believe the attacker fired from a parking lot across the street, where shell casings were found.
