2008 GREENSBURG, Pa. -- A Greensburg police officer who was attacked on the job was kicked, punched and stunned by her own Taser before two local college students jumped in to help.Police said the officer fought back against Jeremy Spisak on Concord Avenue for several minutes before Seton Hill University students Mike Powers and Justin Yeager stepped in."We basically heard screams from the window, and we looked outside and saw a cop getting into argument with some kid," said Powers.Police said Spisak, 19, was in a rage over a woman. They said he first barged into a Greensburg apartment and stabbed a man he believed was involved with his girlfriend. When patrolman Regina Depellegrin arrived, even more trouble started, said police."She got out of the car, and the suspect attacked her," said Capt. George Seranko of the Greensburg Police Department. "A fight ensued. She was trying to hit him in the chest with it (the Taser).""The actor was attempting to grab the Taser," said Lt. Stan Joyce of the Greensburg Police Department. "During that time, turned it and shocked her in the hand several times."For more than three minutes, police said Spisak kicked, punched, choked and used a Taser on Depellegrin. Police said she fought back, but Spisak wouldn’t give up, so the students jumped in to help, punching and pushing him to the ground.Greensburg police said they're thankful Depellegrin is OK.The man who was stabbed is expected to recover from his injuries, police said.Spisak said he does not remember anything from the incident. He is being held on $250,000 bond on charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest. Related Links: More County NewsGet RSS | E-Mail Alerts Copyright 2008 by ThePittsburghChannel.
