A former Seneca Valley High School Army Junior ROTC instructor has been ordered to stand trial on charges he sexually abused two students.

One of the alleged victims, a 17-year-old boy, testified Wednesday that retired Sgt. Maj. Kevin Johnson threatened to "take out" his family if he told anyone about conduct between the two.

A second male, now 18, told the judge he had an ongoing sexual relationship with his instructor from the time he was 15 until as recently as this past January. He testified his was consensual and often took place in Johnson's office.

The 50-year-old Johnson, of Portersville, is charged with 58 counts including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and sexual assault.

Johnson had been employed as a civilian by the school district since 2003. That's where authorities say most of the abuse occurred.

Johnson is free on $50,000 bond and has been suspended by the district. A trial date has not yet been set.
