Parkway East Construction Begins Soon

PITTSBURGH -- With the sun comes the orange cones -- construction season is here.Officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said they are gearing up for the next phase of the Parkway East improvement project.This year, PennDOT said they are concentrating on the highway between Edgewood-Swissvale and Business Route 22 in Churchill.
Work is expected to get under way the first weekend in April, with lane closures on weekends.The remaining section between Churchill and the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Monroeville will be addressed from 2009 to 2011.
