Pittsburgh's Market Square To Get New Bar, Restaurants

Big changes are coming to Pittsburgh's Market Square.

In recent years, the downtown area became a gathering place for drug dealers, but the tides are changing.

Market Square is becoming a place to shop, eat and gather. Police said the drug dealing is a thing of the past after major crackdowns shut down numerous businesses.

Giggles, a former novelty store, could soon turn into a Dunkin Donuts. And the former M and M bar will most likely turn into an upscale bar called Sante, with wine, cheese and desserts for sale.

A downtown partnership representative said there are hopes to transform one of the former businesses into a faux Parisian alley.

On top of the new bars and restaurants, a new Gold's Gym is opening, too.

Mix-Stirs Café already opened last fall, along with the new Crazy Mocha Coffee.

And Moe's Southwest Grill is scheduled to open in summer.
